The following winter release beers are the strong, sometimes dark cure for the winter time blues.

Alesmith Yulesmith – An American Red Ale loaded with hops and caramel malt.
Karl Strauss To The 9′s – An Imperial IPA loaded with pine and citrus flavors.
Lost Abbey The Gift of the Magi – A Belgian Strong Pale Ale brewed with frankincense & myrrh.
Port Santa’s Little Helper – A black, thick Russian Imperial Stout.
Stone Double Bastard Ale – A big aggressive American Strong Ale.
The Bruery Two Turtle Doves – A Belgian Strong Dark Ale brewed with cocoa nibs & toasted pecans.

Deschutes The Abyss – A pitch black oak aged Imperial Stout brewed with licorice and molasses.
Nectar Ales Black Xantus – A Russian Imperial Stout aged in american oak bourbon barrels and infused with organic coffee.
Sierra Nevada Celebration – A dry hopped American IPA with a nice sweet malt backbone.
Telegraph Winter Ale – A smokey, spicey Winter Warmer brewed with cinnamon, allspice, and ancho chilies.

Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux – A nice Saison with a little bit of funk and tartness.
Fantome Noel – A spicy, sweet, fruity Saison.
Mikkeller Santa’s Little Helper – A Belgian Strong Dark Ale brewed with spices and cocoa powder.
Nøgne Ø Winter Ale – A dark roasty English Porter.
St. Feuillien Cuvee de Noel – A Belgian Strong Dark Ale with flavors of fruits and spices.

    Thanks for the comment Eric. I had Delirium Noel on my original draft but I felt it was overloaded with Belgian Strong Dark Ales so I dropped it. I do love the pink elephants!

    I am hoping that in 2010 you list Black LIghtning Porter and Old Tempest Ale as two local, hand crafted, limited production microbrewery beers. The 2009 versions were 1st and 3rd place winners at the CA State Fair, 2nd and 3rd at the LA County Fair.
